NEED TO KNOW
Keeping pace with what matters.
Healthcare is always evolving, and we're evolving right alongside it. Whether it's a policy update or expanding into new communities, our focus remains the same: putting our patients and families first, every single day.

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has shared an important update regarding the AMFC (Family Home Health Aide/FHHA) Income Disregard.
Families who are currently participating in, or enrolling in, the AMFC program are encouraged to complete the linked Income Disregard Form and email it to hqw.access.esshq@myflfamilies.com. Doing so may help protect their Medicaid eligibility.
We're sharing this information to help ensure our families are aware of this opportunity. Atlantic Care Services is not involved in the Medicaid or SSI eligibility process and cannot provide guidance on securing benefits.
Please refer to the linked Income Disregard Form and AHCA website below for complete instructions, additional information, and submission details.

We are excited to share that Atlantic Care Services is now accepting new patients for Private Duty Nursing services in Region 8 and Region 11.
Region 8 counties include: Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee, and Sarasota.
Region 11 counties include: Miami-Dade and Monroe.
We are already in network with many Medicaid payers in these regions, including Sunshine Health, Simply Healthcare, Aetna, Humana, and more, allowing us to help families move through the referral and authorization process as smoothly as possible.
Our team is ready to support medically complex patients and their families with compassionate, reliable nursing care. Please reach out to us with any potential new referrals, questions, or families who may benefit from our services.
We look forward to continuing to partner with you and supporting more families across Florida.

A few of our favorite moments…
Below are some snapshots from our most recent Unidos event, Cafecito y Conocer! The event was filled with great conversations, new connections, and a little friendly competition. Congratulations to Nurse Angelica, the winner of our Lotería game!
MATCHMAKING MOMENT
Introducing Milendy!
If you're looking for a nurse who leads with kindness and compassion, Milendy J. may be the perfect match. A 2025 graduate of Orange Technical College, Milendy began her nursing career on a Neuro PCU, caring for patients recovering from strokes and seizures. That experience reinforced her belief that patience, empathy, and genuine connection can make all the difference.
Milendy's favorite part of nursing is making people feel heard, valued, and truly cared for. She believes the little things matter most and strives to create a safe, comfortable environment where every patient feels seen—not just as a diagnosis, but as a person.
When she's not caring for patients, you'll find Milendy reading, drawing, or shopping (she proudly admits she's a bit of a shopaholic!). She's also a lifelong cat lover, a former gymnast, and can happily rewatch Victorious over and over again.
Milendy is excited to build a meaningful relationship with a new family. If you know a patient who could benefit from her compassionate care and positive spirit, we'd love to make the introduction.

Meet the One and Only Everett!
Everett is the kind of kid who leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets. His family lovingly calls him a "Sour Patch Kid"—a little tough and stubborn on the outside, but incredibly sweet once you've earned his trust. He has a quick wit, a mischievous sense of humor, and loves keeping his nurses laughing by hiding around corners and jumping out to surprise them. Whether he's challenging Mr. Yadiel to a Yu-Gi-Oh! duel, solving puzzles, playing Monopoly, or carrying his favorite stuffed cheetah, Floofie, Everett brings joy wherever he goes.
Over the past year, Everett has faced tremendous challenges while navigating complex medical needs, multiple surgeries, and a long road toward healing. At one point, medical care was frightening, and he struggled to trust the people around him. Today, that story looks very different. Through patience, kindness, and unwavering consistency, Everett has learned to trust, communicate, and believe in himself. He's become more confident, more independent, and even spends more time laughing and playing with his younger brother.
What makes Everett so special isn't just his resilience—it's the way he continues to face each new challenge with courage, determination, and a personality that's impossible not to love. His nurses have celebrated every milestone alongside him, always focusing on what he can do rather than what he can't. In return, Everett has shown them just how much can happen when someone feels safe, supported, and truly believed in.
We are so thankful to be apart of Everett’s journey and cannot wait to continue watching him grow!
“Atlantic Care has given Everett so much more than medical care—they’ve given him confidence, friendships, independence, and a sense of security. They haven’t just changed his medical journey—they’ve changed his life.”— Ashley R. & FamilyCAREGIVER HIGHLIGHT
Say hi to Jellianne, our June Caregiver of the Month!
For Addilyn, Jelianne is so much more than a nurse—she's family. As her primary nurse for the past two years, she has been a constant source of comfort, encouragement, and unwavering support. Her family describes Jelianne as their backbone, someone they trust wholeheartedly, and the person they never have to think twice about leaving Addilyn with because they know she's in the very best hands.
Jelianne has formed a special bond not only with Addi but also with her sister, becoming an important part of their everyday lives. Her compassion, patience, and genuine love have made such a meaningful impact that when the family attended our Patient Appreciation Magic Game event, they chose to bring Jelianne with them because they felt she truly deserved to be celebrated for everything she has done.
We're so grateful for caregivers like Jelianne, whose compassion, dedication, and genuine love make a lasting difference in the lives of the families we serve.
RATINGS & REVIEWS
We love hearing from you!

I’m beyond thankful to have been connected with Atlantic Home Health Care through our caseworker. If you’re a parent or nurse looking for a dependable, compassionate, and professional home health company—this is the one.
We joined Atlantic in April 2025 after my 11-year-old’s long hospital stay. Our previous agency of four years failed to provide coverage after discharge, but Atlantic stepped in immediately. As a single mom needing to return to work , their team worked after hours to ensure we had care in place.
We are blessed with five-star nurses, a wonderful scheduler, and outstanding clinical supervisors. This is truly a winning team. When my daughter came home from the hospital (AGAIN) last month, the Tampa team even stopped by after hours just to welcome her back. That personal touch means so much. Atlantic Home Health Care Tampa treats you like family, and I’m forever grateful for their support.

CLINICAL CORNER
Incident Reporting
You are at your scheduled shift and an incident occurs, and you aren’t exactly sure what to do. At Atlantic Care Services, we have a team of individuals dedicated to helping in situations by guiding you to ensure the patient (or you) is provided with the best care possible.
-
An incident is defined as an unnecessary event that may have the potential for causing harm to the patient or others.
-
Patient falls (with or without injury)
Medication errors or changes
Skin tears or pressure injuries
Aspiration events
Equipment failures affecting patient care
Change from your pt's baseline (change in condition)
-
Needle sticks
Back injuries
Slips, trips, or falls
Exposure to blood or bodily fluids
-
If the patient is severely injured, call 911 immediately. If you are unsure what to do and the incident is not severe, call the Clinical Supervisor that is assigned to the case or the main line number. 407-270-5501
You will need to provide specific information such as what happened and what actions have you already taken to keep the patient safe. After the situation has been handled, chart in Axxess. An example of good charting is below:
"Patient found sitting on the floor beside the wheelchair. No visible injuries noted. Vital signs obtained. Physician and Clinical Supervisor notified."
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) emphasizes that reporting incidents allows healthcare organizations to identify trends, improve systems, and implement preventive strategies that reduce future risk. Thank you for doing your part in helping keep the patient safe.
PATIENT REFERRALS
Support that meets families where they are.
If you’re considering Atlantic Care Services for a patient or family, we’re here to help. Simply call our main line and ask to speak with our Intake and Referral Team.
They’ll be happy to answer any questions, connect with the family, and arrange a meet-and-greet to help everyone feel comfortable and confident moving forward.
